Market Trend for today

Benchmarks ended near day’s highs Friday after buying activity intensified in metals, FMCG and pharmaceutical stocks in a low volume trade. Auto, PSU and oil&gas stocks continued to remain laggard.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 6,014.40, up 34.40 points 0.58 per cent. The broader index touched a high of 6017.35 and low of 5940.25 intraday.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex was at 20078.27, up 95.39 points or 0.48 per cent. The 30-share index touched a low of 19880.36 and high of 20086.42 in trade so far.

BSE Midcap Index was up 0.30 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.31 per cent higher.
