Markets have a flat opening with the Sensex up 24 points to 19,665 and the Nifty down four points to 5887. The broader markets too opened in line with the Sensex. The midcap is up 0.3% and the smallcap gained 0.2% in the early trades.
On the BSE sectoral charts, IT up 0.8% laesd teh sectoral chart followed by Oil & Gas, FMCG and PSU. However, Auto index had opened in the red, trading lower by 0.3%
The gainers on the Sensex are TCS, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Wipro and Infosys up 1% each followed by SBI, Tat Steel, HDFC Bank and DLF adding 0.5% - 0.7%.
The losers are Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Power, Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto down 1% each followed by Tata Motors, Cipla, HDFC, Sterlite shedding 0.6% - 0.9%
The market breadth is positive. Of the total 1405 stocks traded on the BSE, 872 stocks have advanced while 501 has declined.
