The Indian market opens for trade this morning on a flat-to-positive note with Asia flat at this hour. Sensex was trading at 17453, up 40 points from its previous close, and Nifty was at 5291, up 9 points. Now the maket is trading on strong side. Nifty has crossed the crucial 5300 levels. Now nifty is trading at Rs 5307, up 0.50 percent from its precious closing and Sensex is trading at 17508, up 95 points from its previous close.

Today the Indian market open on a positive note. Earlier, the US markets ended lower with the Dow down 101 and Nasdaq down 35 odd points while Asia is mixed at this hour. The Sensex  rose 0.4 percent early Tuesday led by gains in Hindustan Unilever, RIL and L&T. The broader 50-share NSE index was up 0.4 per cent at 5,138.35.  Sensex is trading at 16933, up 56 points from its previous close, and Nifty is at 5135, up 17 points.

The Sensex closed at 16937 (provisional), up 60 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5086 (provisional), up 11 points.
The CNX Midcap index was up 0.05% and the BSE Smallcap index gained 0.02%. The market breadth was negative with advances at 620 against declines of 804 on the NSE.
