Today the Indian market open on a positive note. Earlier, the US markets ended lower with the Dow down 101 and Nasdaq down 35 odd points while Asia is mixed at this hour. The Sensex rose 0.4 percent early Tuesday led by gains in Hindustan Unilever, RIL and L&T. The broader 50-share NSE index was up 0.4 per cent at 5,138.35. Sensex is trading at 16933, up 56 points from its previous close, and Nifty is at 5135, up 17 points.
