State Bank of India declined over 2% and touched the weekly low of Rs2172.50 and ICICI Bank fells over 2% and touched the weekly low of Rs896.90 on the BSE, after the RBI kept interest rates unchanged.

IDFC shares plunged by 6% and touched the weekly low Rs136.50, as the Union Budget unveiled on Friday was seen favouring government-backed companies at the expense of those with private ownership.

Budget 2012: 10 Stocks Moving on Pranab's proposals:

Indian markets have witnessed a selloff in the aftermath of the Union Budget. Here are 10 stocks that have been moving on the back of Budget proposals.

1) Tata Power (-1.75%) will benefit from the exemption of import duties on thermal coal.
2) Vedanta Resources will also benefit from the exemption of import duties on thermal coal.
3) Gail India will benefit because the customs duties of 5% on liquefied natural gas (LNG) have been abolished.
4) Tata Chemicals will be able to expand and modernize facilities because equipment for fertilizer plants is now exempted from import duty.
5) Tata Steel: A 2 per cent increase in excise duty is marginally negative for manufacturing industries such as steel and metal producers.
6) Tata Motors: A 2-5% increase in excise duties on vehicles is negative.
7) Cairn India: The announced 80% or Rs 2,000-per-metric-tonne increase in tax on domestic crude production will hurt upstream companies.
8) State Bank of India (-2%): Banks will get capital but remain depressed by the government’s worsening fiscal position.
9) Mahindra & Mahindra (2.2%): The stock has been rising because contrary to expectations, an excise duty on diesel vehicles has not been announced.
10) ITC (2.3%): Though the government has hiked excise duty brokerage firm CLSA has maintained an 'outperform' call on ITC.

The pre-Budget rally ended abruptly Thursday with the benchmark indices falling nearly 1.5%, snapping the four day winning streak. The BSE Sensex slumped 243.45 points to 17,676 while the broader Nifty index fell 83.40 points to close below the 5,400 mark.

Gold prices regains strength on Thursday as there is rise in its price. It has again regained its price rise after the drop of 2 pct. Gold futures for April delivery ended down $51.30, or three percent, at $1642.90 an ounce. Trade ranged from $1,635.80 to $1,682.80.
The prices of silver are holding at 57000 and one should sell at tuning of 55000. The copper prices are resisting at 432. Among other precious metals, platinum fell $8 to $1,684-1,694 per ounce, while palladium dropped $13.50 to $693-710 per ounce. Silver dropped fell 33 cents to $33.05-33.15.

The Indian markets rose for the second consecutive month in February 2012. Strong global cues led by positive economic data and surge in foreign fund inflows boosted markets.
All the global indices closed the month on a positive note. Nikkei was the top performer of the month rising by 10.46%, following that Hang Seng up by 6.32%, Dax up by 6.15%, Shanghai Composite up by 5.93% and Nasdaq up by 5.44%. Rest major indices stood higher in the range of 2.53-4.67%.
The main stock market index closed with a loss of 27.77 points at 17,145.52, with all but 13 of its components declining.
The broader 50-share NSE index dropped 0.04 percent to 5,220.45.

The Nifty has closed in the negative today and is now expected to trade lower till 5190 in the immediate run. A key support in the immediate run is around 5190 and resistance will be faced at 5308.
The Nifty ended in the negative with a loss of 57 points while the Sensex lost 189 points in today’s trading. Of the 30 stocks of the Sensex, Tata Power and ICICI Bank are expected to move down further going forward.

The BSE Sensex closed 0.34 % higher in Todays trading sessions,with ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro leading the gains.
The Sensex soared 59 points to close at 17643 (provisional), while the Nifty surged 20 points to close at 5359 (provisional).

Todays Sensex & Nifty fall again for second straight week:

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty indices opened higher, but quickly fell mainly on the back of the disappointing Oil and Natural Gas Corp,Market heavy-weight Reliance Industries shares rose marginally reflecting the broader trend of the indices while tech majors TCS and Infosys were down by 1 and 0.5 per cent respectively.

Commodity MCX Gold Updates Today:

Gold edged higher on Friday as buyers slowly returned to the market, lured by Wednesday's plunge of 5 percent, although bullion is still heading for its worst weekly performance since December.
Spot GOLD could face resistance at $1,726 -1741 during the day,
Look for support at $1,710-700.
