The pre-Budget rally ended abruptly Thursday with the benchmark indices falling nearly 1.5%, snapping the four day winning streak. The BSE Sensex slumped 243.45 points to 17,676 while the broader Nifty index fell 83.40 points to close below the 5,400 mark.

Gold prices regains strength on Thursday as there is rise in its price. It has again regained its price rise after the drop of 2 pct. Gold futures for April delivery ended down $51.30, or three percent, at $1642.90 an ounce. Trade ranged from $1,635.80 to $1,682.80.
The prices of silver are holding at 57000 and one should sell at tuning of 55000. The copper prices are resisting at 432. Among other precious metals, platinum fell $8 to $1,684-1,694 per ounce, while palladium dropped $13.50 to $693-710 per ounce. Silver dropped fell 33 cents to $33.05-33.15.

The Indian markets rose for the second consecutive month in February 2012. Strong global cues led by positive economic data and surge in foreign fund inflows boosted markets.
All the global indices closed the month on a positive note. Nikkei was the top performer of the month rising by 10.46%, following that Hang Seng up by 6.32%, Dax up by 6.15%, Shanghai Composite up by 5.93% and Nasdaq up by 5.44%. Rest major indices stood higher in the range of 2.53-4.67%.
The main stock market index closed with a loss of 27.77 points at 17,145.52, with all but 13 of its components declining.
The broader 50-share NSE index dropped 0.04 percent to 5,220.45.

The market breadth was in favour of declines, with 43.46% shares rising and 52.26% shares falling.

Out of the 30 Sensex stock, 18 stocks are trading lower.
Top most losers are Bharti Airtel down by 3.23%,
Hindalco down by 3.11% and
Tata steel down by 3.12%.
Top most gainers are DLF up by 4.11%,
Maruti up by 1.48% and SBI up by 1.35%.
