BUDGET 2012 HIGHLIGHTS FOR TODAY :

Budget 2012:
Budget is largely focused on the Capital Market, Infrastructure, Power & Agriculture.
The government will take action to reduce subsidies on diesel during the 2012/13 fiscal year that begins on April 1.

• Doubled custom duty on refined gold.
• Automated shuttle looms exempted from customs duty
• Duty reduced on energy saving lamps.
• Propose to hike service tax rate from 10% to 12%
• Agriculture credit target raised to Rs 5.75lakh crore in FY13
• Direct transfer of subsidy to retailer & farmer
• Need to raise tax-GDP ratio for fiscal consolidation
• Need to address the problem of black money
• To introduce Rajiv Gandhi Eq Scheme for retail investor 3-yr lock-in period exemption under Rajiv Gandhi scheme

The BSE Sensex closed 0.34 % higher in Todays trading sessions,with ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro leading the gains.
The Sensex soared 59 points to close at 17643 (provisional), while the Nifty surged 20 points to close at 5359 (provisional).

Todays Sensex & Nifty fall again for second straight week:

The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty indices opened higher, but quickly fell mainly on the back of the disappointing Oil and Natural Gas Corp,Market heavy-weight Reliance Industries shares rose marginally reflecting the broader trend of the indices while tech majors TCS and Infosys were down by 1 and 0.5 per cent respectively.

Commodity MCX Gold Updates Today:

Gold edged higher on Friday as buyers slowly returned to the market, lured by Wednesday's plunge of 5 percent, although bullion is still heading for its worst weekly performance since December.
Spot GOLD could face resistance at $1,726 -1741 during the day,
Look for support at $1,710-700.

Realty sector witnessed short build-up as stocks DLF, HDIL, IBREALEST, SOBHA and UNITECH were down by 6.7%, 4.9%, 3.9%, 3% and 2% respectively.

Technology sector was down by 1.7% as stocks HCLTECH, INFY, MPHASISI, PATNI, POLARIS, ROLTA, TECHM and WIPRO were down in the range of 1% to 3%.

Metals sector was down by 1.4% as stocks BHUSANSTL, HINDZINC, JINDALSTEL, JSWISPAT, JSWSTEEL, SAIL, SESAGOA and TATASTEEL were down in the range of 2% to 4%.

Automobile, Capital Goods, Realty and Technology sector witnessed maximum OI activity.
