The 50-share Nifty index closed at 6,040.90, up 69.85 points or 1.17 percent, it touched a high of 6,050.50 and a low of 5,982.95 and Sensex ended at 19881.59, up 207.95 points or 1.06 per cent, it touched a high of 19,917.88 and a low of 19,697.33 in trade yesterday.
