The Indian stock market opened on a fairly positive note this morning,
extending recent gains, but retreated a bit subsequently.
The Sensex, which rose to 19,105.86, is now up 39.6 points or 0.21% at 19,018.82 and Nifty is down marginally at 5591.45 after rising to 5624.20.
On Thursday a recovering rupee and strong global cues lifted the Indian market to a buoyant close for the second successive day.
